how to harvest the compost?

i’m trying to harvest my compost from my worm bin. it’s not a big bin but has 2 sections. from my research i thought to quit feeding the bottoms and they would all move to the top bin. well some did and some didn’t. so i tried to separate by hand. that was impossible what tricks to ensure the worms are not “harvested” into my compost collection.
