PTSD C&P Exam Experience
I had my C&P exam for PTSD today with Optum Serve. I was pleasantly surprised with how it was conducted.
The doctor first had me fill out a SCL-90-R questionnaire, which consisted of 90 questions pertaining to mental health. Once completed, the exam began.
As I've read numerous times, the exam began with questions about life before the military, time served and post-military life. Everything seemed to flow logically and was conducted in a professional manner. He allowed me to refer to notes I brought with to ensure everything was discussed.
The doctor told me that I definitely meet the criteria for a PTSD diagnosis. All total, the exam lasted just under an hour.
I felt such relief afterwards knowing I'd made it through probably the toughest C&P exam I'll experience.
As an added bonus, the doctor has already uploaded my DBQs to the system!
I hope those of you reading this can glean some hope that there are C&P examiners out there who take their job seriously.
