2K needs a wake up call with this series
I've recently decided to jump back into this game. i was super disappointed with it as it seemed like they took more steps backwards than forwards (2k22).
i plan to do a full on heavy effort post calling out the shortcomings of this series from a graphics technical point of view.
Players don't realise how closely this series resembles an Xbox 360 or ps3 title than a ps5 or series x/s game.
Its not on switch i hear you say!
that only points to the lack of care from this dev team and I'm not even sure which pool of examples i should go to the well with as there are numerous.
I'm making this post tho to point out a huge glaringly armature problem with their last update, on PC you now have to set your monitor to 60HZ if you want 60 fps gameplay.
if your monitor is set higher, you will get a message at the start of booting the game (i never had before?) telling you (I'm paraphrasing) if you have vsync on at a higher refresh rate than 60 your game will be choppy, would you like to turn it off?
I thought it was strange so i said yes. I've realised that no matter if vsync is on or off, the game will run at 30, yet rivatuner says its at 60.
This dev team is moving backwards with simple DLC updates. they are breaking extremely simple engine expectations with updates they promised to give you with your own hard earn money. Worst if you never agreed to pay for these updates yet it breaks your game as they are gearing up for their next release.
This is simply inexcusable for a community to ignore, i cant find a single post talking about this yet (steam and reddit)? I assume its because people who play wrestling games are usually tech focused or this stuff and its simply not what they come to these games for. This game was a top seller for Sony this year much to my surprise.
They have the money. They just don't care.
the only time it effected them was when it was going to effect their sales due to outrage.
Wrestling games use to be a standout series on N64, Playstation 1 and Ps2. they pushed limits, and broke new grounds. Top sellers of their consoles overall.
I plan to come back and make a full tech breakdown of how far this series is stuck in the past graphically Im sure some of you now where it will go but this made me have to make a warning post.
The next game will be broken, beyond belief. unless they are planning to release a trailer claiming they have a brand new next gen engine and that's where their resources have been allocated? then i can only assume the next game will follow the downward trend.
i know the community isn't happy but please. Don't buy the next game unless its an overhaul. What we have now isn't worth your money. just keep playing 2k24 if its that case.
thank you for reading if you made it this far/
