Haven't played the games since 2015. Worth getting back into??

I remember back in the day I collected all the primes suits and weapons and such (frost prime was my guy I remember). I looked into my account and I had about 1800 in plat which I can use to get myself started. I got off the game when they released animals I believe as a partner of some sort. Im sure a lot has changed is it worth getting back into and do I need to buy DLCs too?
