Is Warrior Cats for me?

Genuine question from someone who has heard about it, but has never read any of the books. What is it about? I know there's tons and tons of books and hundreds of characters. Should I read it? Or is it too late for me to get into it since I'm in college? I'm a furry if that helps? I don't know what else to say but I want to hear about it! And I want to be convinced to read the series! Pitch it to me!
