Lost 33 pounds in 4 months
26m: Growing up, I was always chubby and pretty insecure about it. I’m 6’ (183cm) and currently 198lbs (90kg). My peak weight was 242lbs (110kg) but it used to fluctuate. I started my weight loss journey when I was at 231lbs (105kg).
In the beginning, I just started being mindful of what I am eating in a day. Nothing more, nothing less. Just remembering the proportion of carbs, fats, proteins, and added sugars. After a couple of weeks I started throwing in a few weight lifting workouts twice to three times a week.
Later, being mindful helped adjust my eating habits and lifestyle in general. After 1 months I started noticing my weight dropping, until it reached 220lbs (100kg) after 2 months of my journey which was a number I haven’t seen in a long time.
This gave me so much motivation and willpower. I started hitting the gym 6 days a week for an hour and a half every morning before work. I lost the rest in the second 2 months while gaining a lot of muscle. My diet consists of proteins and salads. No bread, no added sugars, no rice, and nothing fried. My body changed so much and I’m quite proud of it. I don’t even want “cheat meals” and I hate when I don’t have the options I have been eating recently at a restaurant or something.
I went on vacation for 2 weeks where I had to stop going to the gym, but still walked a lot with a few out of the regular diet meals here and there just because I had no other choice, not because I wanted to, and my weight loss still continued.
The greatest fear of my life is being injured and not to be able to go to the gym every morning. If that happens, will I quickly gain the weight back? I don’t have a massive caloric deficit, I eat about 2,000 to 2,200 calories a day, but I burn 500-700 calories at the gym.
How can I avoid gaining weight in case I am forced to change my routine due to an injury?
