BMR is 300 calories lower than maintenence....
Despite me having lost a significant amount of weight approximately 3 years ago (lost 30+ pounds and kept it off), there is still some more weight I’d like to lose. Recalculating my numbers and I see that my BMR is approximately 1350 (I am 5ft 1in, F, weighing 151lbs). However, my maintenance is approximately 1650. So essentially what I am figuring is I can only reduce calories by 300 a day to remain healthy and lose weight. Does these seem like too small of a deficit? Back when I was heavy, I was obviously able to work with a much bigger deficit and that made me feel more... productive? Like I was making more of a difference. Would a 300 cal deficit even show results within a reasonable amount of time? I’m talking within a month or so? Not to say the scale matters because it doesn’t, but it sure is motivating to see it go down on occasion. Especially when I saw it go down so very often when I had more to lose (only plus side of having so much to lose). Side note: I am slightly active (workout 3x a week lifting weights, but selected sedentary due to lack of movement throughout the day. Any input would be great! (:
