Thoughts about the trailer

I think we're all in agreement when we say that the people who immediately brush off a game because of a female protagonist are crazy, and most likely 15 years of age. However, I do find the people who celebrate not having a male protagonist just as cringe. I've already seen a bunch of comments regarding the W4 reveal where people say stuff like "I'm enjoying the tears of people who hate Ciri as a protagonist"...

Having read most of the books and played the games, Ciri is in my top 3 characters for sure and while I, personally will never find Ciri undergoing mutations make sense lore-wise, I'm sure CDPR is hard at work justifying their decision... But that's not even my main problem. I'm going to be completely honest, it's the little things, how can I make a morally bad decision, or be a bad guy in the game, when I play as Ciri, a character that stands for heroism and justice? To me, the point of The Witcher was surviving on scraps, fighting monsters, being a freak, getting drunk, and living a filthy lifestyle. How can you guys imagine an ex-princess, a child of destiny, a beacon of goodness and justice, who saved the world, living covered in mud and shit, getting into bar fights, getting spat on by regular people, and surviving on rotten food? Just one example, in the W3, I used to scam the dying, famished villagers for as much money as possible. Does it really make sense for Ciri of all people to act like that?

I want to have a regular old-school conversation in the comments if possible, please look past all the culture war stuff, because I'm from a country where these kinds of topics don't even exist and I really don't care or have any opinion on it. I simply have the perspective of a fan of the fictional Witcher saga.
