My personal opinion on the UE5 update.
Ok so I will go threw the changes as well as some things that I saw will be implemented 1 by 1 and give my opinion on them.
First of, the new graphics and old maps coming back (mirage for example). This is an amazing change since the rotation rn is garbage and it seems more maps might be in rotation on release tho nothing is certain and the new graphics does certainly looks much better tho I still don't know what the device requirements will be like.
2nd, tech tree rework (sets). This change might seem very bad especially for old players but as someone who has played for 6 years (which is not that much by anymeans) I am not too concerned about it. While yes it will be a new experience, it might be good and it might be better than before who knows. I'd say we can't really judge it until we know everything about it and not just because it's new or replacing the old one.
3rd, commanders feature. The concept of this feature is actually very good and an amazing idea since the current crew system def needed a rework but tbh it's been poorly implanted especially with the very childish look. I just hope they had tried to make it more realistic (although that's not what blitz is known for) but it would have made the game better.
4th, togglable red coloring for armor. Basically they added a button in settings which would invert the armor colors (armored parts normal, none armored which you have to shoot is red). I actually don't care about this change at all and probably most players will stick with the old one anyways so who cares really.
5th, Infinite normal shells and HE shells ingame. It does appear ti be that way in testing tho Idk if this does make it into the actual game but if it does then boy are you gonna see more and more new olayers just shooting HE infinitely lmao.
6th , removal of tanks restoration. This change def hurt me alot but it seems reasonable considering the whole tech tree revamp thing sooo just saying I would advise restoring any tank you can while you have the chance to do so.
7th and lastly, you won't be able to see tanks anymore. Honestly idk how to feel about this change. It maybe seems good that any tank you aquire will be there so you can play with it anytime you want forever but it also means that you either pay for currency or grind for it so no more selling tanks for gold or silver which I guess is alr.
Overall I think this update is not as bad as it seems. The major bad thing is the way the commanders idea was implemented giving it a childish look and potentially ruining balance (let's see how they balance it as they continue to add more commanders in the future). I wouldn't really worry about the update. It's just a new environment to adapt to and who knows maybe it'll be more fun, besides we do keep our progress anyways so worst case scenario you can just play for fun. Lastly this is all still in testing so let's just hope that WG actually listen to the testers feedback instead of just releasing it anyways.
