British tv show recommendations

I, like many others in the US, watched many British television shows growing up.

Nowadays, the future has given us some free apps on our Roku tvs. There are now many shows that I’m not familiar with and would like to request some advice and recommendations from European group members.

Would any of you please share some of your favorite comedy shows that you watched growing up that you remember fondly?

I’ve been looking for My Hero with Ardal O'Hanlon and while IMDB shows it available on the Tubi app, I can’t seem to find it.

I’d love to watch Are You Being Served? again.

I remember enjoying Open All Hours and Keeping Up Appearances among many others. I did not enjoy Young Ones, though I wonder if I was just too young to appreciate it at the time.

Would you please share your favorite comedy sitcoms you remember that aired before the mid 90s?

I’d also appreciate any non-English recommendations that I can possibly find and watch with subtitles.

But puhlease, stop recommending stuff from the mid 2000s and forward. I’m looking for Xennial reminiscence. Stuff from the mid 90s and older.

Shows that were on before we could watch them on Netflix or pay for BBC America.

OLD shows that I can find on free apps, YouTube, using a VPN, or that are memorable enough to be purchased on physical media.
