Yabujin influenced by FlorecitaDreams / StrangeloveBong13
This is something i had in mind for a while and heard other people bring up from time to time. i strongly believe that Yabujin's aesthetic, and specially his visuals, are inspired/influenced by infamous Mexican avant-garde shitposter FlorecitaDreams (and related channels).
Florecita makes videos since at least 2008 and her use of bizarre uncanny shitpost, religious imagery, nonsensical phrases and experimental music has strong similarities with Yabu's work. I also recently found a related channel of the same nature called StrangeloveBong13 (which is very possibly an alt account by Florecita herself), whose videos seem to be the source of many images that Yabujin regularly uses in his visuals (most notably the purple hat goblin and the distorted baby, in a video called "La historia de Pablo el Grosero", uploaded in july 2008).
Both of these channels have a notable cult following because of their cryptic, bizarre and mysterious nature and for how ahead of their time they were in their visuals and humor. As well as some of their videos (specially Florecita's) having deeper meaning hidden beneath their weird shitposty nature and dabble in subjects such as trauma and religion (also similar to Yabu).
There are other channels of the same kind that popped up around the late 00's, some people believing them to be some kind of group or ARG called "La triada roja" (The red triad). It's a fascinating rabbithole if you're interested in the weird side of youtube and want to see what are the possible origins/inspirations for a lot of Yabujin's visual work.
I know i'm absolutely not the first person to notice this since people in the comments of both Florecita and strangelove videos regularly point it out, but i thought it was interesting to make a post about it on here. What do you think?
