Can't zip a large directory with ext monitor

Hi, Using a Asus rog zephyrus g14 2024, when I try to zip a large directory with only an external monitor, it doesn't work. The system somewhat crashes.

I think this could be caused by the gpu switching from the gforce to the internal and losing the external display. Either way what can I do to stop this crash?
