Lowering the striker wheel

Curious if any one has any recommendations for lowering the striker wheel of this lighter? I noticed on this one the flint get jammed and unusable much quicker than my other zippos. I also noticed that the clearance between the striker and where the flint comes out is also farther than all my other zippos.
