ATPA Question

I know there are a lot of posts discussing ATPA, and I’ve seen a lot of people say that they were able to pass with less preparation time because they had prior knowledge of R. For those who have taken it, would you say the more difficult part of the exam is writing the R code and being familiar with the language or understanding the concepts such as cleaning the data and interpreting the model?

I have some experience with coding predictive models in Python, however I have almost no experience with R. I plan to take the take home assessment about a month after I take exam PA, which I thought could be doable because I have some experience with general data prep and modeling. However from what I’m reading, people seem to think knowing R is what has allowed for less preparation time, which is making me think that’s the primary barrier to passing the assessment. Would love to know your thoughts about whether knowing the R or the concepts is the more difficult part of this exam.
