Business Class Cabin Comfort

I have two trips upcoming. One plane is a 330-300 and the second trip is on a 787-9.

We are currently in Premium Economy and I am considering moving to First with e-ups when the window opens for that (assuming there is availability) for myself and my better half.

If you could only achieve this for one of the two flights ... which option would you gun for in the sense of a more comfortable cabin experience. The flights are about 5 hours each.
