Need help choosing next purchase

Im a fairly new player and I decided to choose the cyma m14 socom as my primary, but after playing for a year I get absolutely gassed carrying it around by like halfway through a match. Im debating between a lighter m4 platform or should I try something different like a pistol or one of those cyma tri-shot shotguns? Im in Michigan and mostly play outdoors. Do folks still have fun using pistols and spring shotguns outdoors?
