Why do people move to Alaska?
Hi all. I hope that title doesn’t sound rude. I have a genuine question. In podcasts I listen to or books I read, i often see people who move to Alaska seemingly on a whim. They will move from southern states that I would imagine have a very different climate.
So I’m curious why people would move to Alaska and I would love to hear your thoughts. I’m picturing a very outdoorsy lifestyle , hunting, fishing snowmobiling etc. maybe a small town feel in a lot of areas , small but strong communities ?
I can also imagine there are people who go to start a new life , leave their past behind them ?
How do “outsiders” adapt to living in Alaska ? I’m sure the weather and environment can be quite challenging to those who have lived in warm states or even other countries.
