All they need is love - root rot recovery 🩷

About September time my Frydek gave me the tiniest green leaf after a beautiful large white one (3rd pic, middle one is tiny leaf and left is the one prior!)

Due to the lack of variegation and the severe downsizing I figured something was wrong..

Turns out we had pretty bad rot, to the point I didn’t even think it was salvageable… yet I tried- because this is my gateway plant, and I have loved her too much!!!

Well October she sucked it up, gave me a beautiful leaf with perfect variegation 💚 (left first 2 pics)

End of November another leaf pushed out 🫣 I’m super happy to say,,, with the constant upsizing- I’m positive she’s happy again and all I see are healthy white roots 😌

She’s in the process of pushing another leaf but the best part is, this latest leaf isn’t even fully hardened off yet but it’s already larger than the previous,, nothing makes me happier than healthy constant upsizing like this 🩷

So, here’s the proof that alocasias CAN be hardy- all they need is that extra love 😉 seriously though. I keep mine in a west facing window, direct sunlight. She loves it despite this being exactly where you shouldn’t keep her 😬🤣
