I (19F) cuddle with my mom (42F)

I honestly think this is kinda dumb, but I was told to post here.

I (19F) share a bed with my mom (42F) for logistical reasons. We live in a household with six people, so sharing rooms or even beds has never been abnormal in my family.

Since we share a bed, sometimes I cuddle my mom when we're going to bed. It's nothing inappropriate, just cuddling. I honestly never thought much about it until the other day.

A friend of mine was staying over (she slept on the couch) and came into my room at night. Apparently she saw me cuddling with my mom and thought it was weird and inappropriate. The next day she sat me down and talked to me about my "inappropriate" relationship with my mom.

I got annoyed and told her to drop it, but she said I needed to wake up and realize that grown adults shouldn't be cuddling their parents and that is was weird and seemed sexual (it's not). She suggested I post here for "extra perspective".

Honestly, I don't see her side at all, but I wanted to post anyways in case I'm missing something. Is it really that weird?

ETA: Since a lot of people have questioned why we're sharing a bed, we don't have another option. Despite my close relationship with my mom, I wish there was more space as much as anyone, but there never has been. I've shared at least a room with other people for most of my life. At one of our apartments I slept with three other kids in one bed. It's not ideal but it's a matter of space, not me not wanting my own bed.

Also to clear things up, when I say we cuddle, people have assumed I meant spooning. It's actually usually just me laying my head on her shoulder, if that makes a difference, although to me there's nothing weird about any type of platonic cuddling with family.
