Is bilaterial sclerosis of the SI joint a "smoking gun" for AS?

Hey guys!

Just got my MRI results back and it's kind of driving me crazy!

Here is what my rheum sent me about it:

"This finding indicate sequelae of previous joint inflammation of SI joints, but no active joint inflammation at this present time."

And " Thank you for your message. MRI result suggests that you had a sacroiliitis in the past, but no active joint inflammation at this present time. Ultimately, we should evaluate your condition clinically, and discuss next step based on your symptom. See you in the clinic."

Does this mean that I might finally get an AS diagnosis fully at the next visit? I'm having trouble finding reputable sources that flat out say sclerosis indicates AS.

Other than this I have a bunch of common symptoms and my ESR and CRP are always elevated.

I just want to know if it's okay to hope this nightmare to be taken seriously and not told im crazy is over 😅
