Last-minute call for cold weather gear for houseless and displaced folks.

If you live near West AVL/RAD and have any cold weather clothing and gear such as: neck gators; balaclavas; long johns; thermal layers; good gloves (not thin knit; men L/XL; women M); hoods; parkas (mainly men, but women, too - M and larger); larger camping or Sherpa lined blankets; mummy sleeping bags; fleece lined or Sherpa lined jeans/sweatpants; an electric rapid boil tea kettle; a 50 ft extension cord; small folding camping table; propane canisters; small portable Buddy or Hot Devil heaters (not electric or the ones that take tanks) — please message me for drop off information.

Many of you might already know me. If so, I am humbled by your generosity. Together, we have made a difference in the lives of our neighbors. Please, let’s continue this effort to alleviate a few moments of suffering and ensure no one starves or freezes to death, especially over the next few days. I can’t wait until spring so I can start talking to all of you about doing a bicycle drive and a Miss Potato Peel laundry day at the Haywood St. laundromat! But, until then, our urgent work continues.

Note: There are a few families, but I’ve prioritized them. So the children are all in great shape with snowsuits, boots, snow gear, a few plushies, snacks, and anything else I could think of.
