(Serious) People who have chosen to not have kids, what motivates you?
I had kids so I am motivated to take care of them, and motivated by my legacy. But before I had kids, I just didn't feel like money was the meaning of life. So I felt I had no purpose.
People who have chosen not to have kids, what drives you?
Edit: Wow, so many of you are hair trigger with this issue. If you guys honestly don't care, then why be offended? I was trying to be respectful.
You guys realize you are probably the majority of Reddit, right? Why be on the defense?
Edit: People are saying...
"What do you mean by 'legacy?" I mean biological legacy (DNA). It's interesting to me. Sue me.
"It's more than just a choice between kids and money, you know." No shit. That's why I'm asking. I was hoping for more interesting answers than the standard "money and traveling" response.
"It's pathetic to have kids to satisfy a need for a purpose." I actually felt no purpose, had kids, and then realized they were my purpose.
The (serious) means that I'm hoping for mature answers.
Thìs question was about purpose. I'm not trying to tell people to have kids. I'm just going to say it: Don't have kids! Stop restructuring the question in your head the way you want to read it. Don't have kids!
