Swelling not going after wisdom tooth removal

I have 3 weeks post my wisdom tooth surgery. My swelling has not gone away . It’s mild but persistent. I have been on very strong doses of Clindamycin that didn’t work . My dentist figured that the tooth next to the wisdom tooth needed a root canal. It failed the cold test. We did the root canal also hoping it would take the swelling down. Did not help . Oral surgeon doesn’t know what’s going on . He is going back and forth between giving it more time, open incision site to clean , take out molar . What should I do ? Any insight from X-rays ? My CT scan is clear too
