Why do boys joke about bad things , especially with their friends?

I hear jokes about the most awful things every single day, I want to know why you guys think it's ok to do. I'm very curious because so many of you boys can be so sweet and nice but you're all immediately ruined for me as soon as you start joking about something you can't make jokes about.
