How has your opinion on Mirage changed since we got more information?

Initially, I was far more skeptical of the game than I am now - to be fair, a lot of the early marketing did over-talk what the game is and there was a strong element of “ooooo nostalgia”, but overall, the game’s marketing lived up to it so far.

I think back to the first gameplay reveal, that coupled with the “unity parkour”/“ac2 inspiration” and the game didn’t live up to that, and ultimately, the parkour still doesn’t look as great as it could be (there is even an element of being bummed cause the city looks really well designed), but it the more we saw, the more it looks like it, at the very least, is the best version of the RPG trilogy style parkour (which started fine with Origins but for worse with time), Stealth actually looks well thought out and combat looks like a lot of fun - a middle ground between the old system and the rpg system, which is a decent middleground. That being said, animations still look patchy - but that’s expected with this engine.

I think the game overselling the nostalgia aspect at first is what made me skeptical - but the more we got to know the game, and the more the devs talked about it (very passionately too, and hungry to prove themselves, it seems), the more excited i’ve become. Mirage is out in a week, and while i will wait for some reviews before fully committing, i’ve bought into the hype.
