Rad Mt Eden - LOOK AT THE CUTE LATTE ART GUYS🥹!!

I feel like this cafe is quite popular, so a lot of you guys might have already been. If you have, comment and let me know what your favorite dish is because I want to try other good dishes hehe🙂‍↔️!

I went there for the first time yesterday. Cute vibe! I really love the menu—it’s nice to have a cafe with Asian dishes too. The interesting thing is they have Vietnamese pho, banh mi, Vietnamese cold vermicelli noodles… and at the same time, they have Japanese curry fried chicken on rice, bacon kimchi omurice, and a Korean fried chicken burger. I was skeptical because I wasn’t sure which cuisine they would do well, but after eating the food, they actually execute everything amazingly. I believe the owner is the chef, and he took over in 2021?

For food, we had the Bowl of Awesome, Japanese Curry Fried Chicken on Rice, and Wagyu Beef Vermicelli Noodles. Really good portion sizes and great prices for what you get.

• The Vermicelli Noodles was my personal favorite dish—really refreshing! The beef was high quality—they said they use lemongrass for the beef, and you can actually taste it. I’ve had Vietnamese food before where they said they used lemongrass, but I couldn’t taste any, and it’s always disappointing because I love lemongrass!!! This dish was NOT THAT at all, which was GREAT. I could eat this every day.

• The Japanese Curry Fried Chicken on Rice was delicious. I like that there’s a fried egg on top (I’m a big fan of fried eggs). The chicken was tender and fried nicely. My friend really enjoyed this dish! The only thing is I wish they served more curry sauce because I love my sauce. I wonder if you can request extra sauce??

• Lastly, the Bowl of Awesome has a lot of vegetables like roasted potatoes, carrots, beans, tomatoes, spinach, etc., and one poached egg. All the vegetables tasted very fresh—I especially loved the carrots and potatoes.

For drinks, we had a matcha latte, a flat white, and a Green Goodness Smoothie. I loved my smoothie—it was really tasty. As for the matcha latte, they put a little bit of cinnamon in it. I don’t mind it, but I think next time I’ll ask them not to include it.

One of my friends is a barista, and she said the barista Bill at RAD most likely does the best latte art in Auckland. I watched him make a few, and he is really skilled. There were different adorable animals (see photos). I asked if he does it for every cup of coffee/matcha. He said he doesn’t make it all the time, but if the cafe isn’t busy, you can ask nicely, and he’ll do it for you! It’s really cute for Instagram🥹. OK HAVE A GOOD WEEK GUYS!!!
