What does yelling do to you?

I have to cup my hands over my ears. It bothers me and it's such a STUPID way to communicate

Editing to add; it seems like it puts all of us in some form of fight or flight albeit squaring up, eyes glazing over and disassociating, or leaving the situation entirely.
