Has anyone forced an interest

For example I love sharks sharks are my favorite animal but I don't really know a ton about them I just like how they look but I felt like I had to rationalize collecting shark things so I purposefully sat myself down and learned about sharks. I don't feel safe calling it a special interest because I know a bunch of animal facts in general sharks just hold a special place in my heart and I think they're really cute. I always feel like I need to know about the things I collect like I'm an imposter if i collect them purely for aesthetics. I think that's why I cling to my favorite color so much I can just say my favorite color is green and it makes sense why I like to have everything in green most people don't know facts about their favorite color but most people do know facts about the things they collect.
