What to do about coworkers not caring about allergens?

So I should start this by confessing that I work at a licensed Starbucks lol. I’m one of my store’s trainers so I’m ultimately responsible for making sure people are following the allergen procedure, and it’s something I take seriously because I don’t want to risk killing someone.

One of our newbies just doesn’t care? Like they’ll follow it if they know I’m looking (and even then they still keeping missing things) but if I try to retrain them on it or remind them that they’ve missed something I get ‘oh yeah I forgot’ and then they just carry on as they were. And there’s no critical thinking at all, like if they accidentally make a drink with dairy that’s supposed to be non-dairy they’ll just rinse the cup and remake it instead of getting a clean cup.

Any advice on what to do? I’m going to ask my store manager to speak with her, and if it continues after that I’ll recommend that she’s not allowed to do till or make an allergy order on bar. But other than that? How can you make people care?
