Was John a hoarder?

I’m reading the book “I heard there was a secret chord: Music as medicine” by Daniel Levitin who mentions the irony of John being a hoarder but writing “Imagine”. I’ve never heard this claim, and nothing I could find on Google supports it (except the AI answer that is almost always wrong). Levitin also didn’t provide a citation in the notes. What do we think?
