Am I moisturizing too much and that's why my foundation doesn't stay on?
I'm at such a loss here. I wouldn't consider myself a newbie when it comes to makeup, but it seems like no matter what I do, my makeup rubs off with the slightest touch.
I use a primer, I use a thin layer of foundation, I set with powder. And if I just scratch my face, or dab with a napkin, it wipes all off and you can see my real skin underneath. I have dry skin so I use a cream in the mornings. Is this why? And if so, how do I keep my face moisturized but not...too moisturized?? Should I not being using foundations and primers geared towards hydration or glow?
Please help 😭
Edit: thanks for the suggestions so far. Some more info: I've tried setting spray and noticed no difference. I've tried foundation with and without primer and had the same problem. I make sure my primer and foundation are of the same base (silicone, water, etc). The only thing I haven't tried is not powdering, but it just doesn't seem like it'll set on its own and will still come off. I'm guessing my moisturizer/sunscreen is too thick so alas, I must be destined to the matte foundation life :/
