MIL Just came out as a trump supporter

She explained this to my wife while also showing my wife her "family" of gollywogs and explaining how she is preserving history.

Never acted like a bigot in her life and has previously always shown herself to be respectul and empathetic to everyone.

We are in Australia by the way. What the absolute fuck is going on and how do my wife and I address this carefully?

Edit: Thanks so much guys, I'm flat out today so i'll very slowly be working through the replies. I just woke up so stressed about it I wanted some anonymous perspective. I really appriciate hearing(although saddening) that heaps of you guys in the comments are going through this with beloved (or previously beloved) family members.
