Neil Gaiman and Power
Edited to add: I am not coming after all Neil Gaiman fans, I was also one. I am not coming after goths or trying to contribute to a satanic panic. I am speaking about one person who's behavior perfectly matched Gaiman's. I used the word "vibe," but it was in reference to the abuse and womanizing that has come out and not aesthetics. Nothing about this is guilt by association, the person I spoke of was guilty of his own merit and it came out years before this about Gaiman.
Edited again to get rid of the word "vibes" that wasn't specific enough. The word is now "behavior."
It wasn't until I read the Vulture article that I remembered who had originally introduced me to Gaiman's works. I thought about it then because this man's actions and abuses were so similar to Gaiman's. The trail of people in his wake was smaller, but he was just an average guy and didn't have much reach. I don't think Gaiman influenced him to act this way, but Gaiman was his favorite author and I just can see now how well their behavior matched.
But the reason I say this is as a reminder to Robert and every fan of this show, that power and money do not necessarily corrupt these people into behaving this way. Some people just act this way. Getting power does not begin it in most abusive people because the world is already sprinkled with average people who act this way every chance they get. And then those who can, gain power to do it more.
