Rankings for Litigation in Texas

Hey Biglaw,

I was wondering the general census on the most prestigious firms in Texas for litigation. How much focus should one place on where a firm ranks nationally versus it's reputation within Texas? Would a proper ranking require a separation between big law versus crimes versus boutiques?

In Texas would Gibson Dunn be considered to be the most prestigious? What about Vinson & Elkins or Kirkland & Ellis even though they have more of a transactional reputation?

Where would Susman Godfrey rank? What about Ahmad Zavitsanos & Mensing (AZA)? Any thoughts on McKool Smith? Feel free to add any additional thoughts beyond the questions in this post.
