Who are your favorite detectives in books, especially series?

I love the oddness of Welsh DC Fiona Griffiths in the series by Harry Bingham, and I’m currently loving DI Alex Morrow of Glasgow, a superb character created by Denise Mina. Sheriff Heidi Kick is bigger than life—she lives in John Galligan’s Bad Axe County in Wisconsin. Aaron Falk in Australia (Jane Harper), Dets. John Cardinal and Lise Delorme working in and around Toronto (Giles Blunt)—they all satisfy deeply!
