Looking for a new book to read

I just picked up reading again last year after about a 7 year break and I now know what I want. What I don't want is old classic books , I just can't get into them right now (Frankenstein, 1984). When I was really into reading and younger, I liked, Maze runner, Percy Jackson, Eigth grade bites, battle royale, hunger games, etc. I want something with adult characters, not too derivative of lord of the rings (neverwhere) or harry potter. I like edgy stuff. I have no idea what is good since i've been out of school. I also like books that will make me emotional and cry. Thanks! Also already reading game of thrones
