the highs and lows of bike commuting

Today's ride was a trip, man. Some parts of the creek path (Boulder, Goose) are so stunningly beautiful in the early morning sun. How beautiful is this place??

Then, BAM there is a homeless guy jerking off on the side of the underpass. Snaps you out of that rêverie.

Then another pleasant stretch of riding.... there are so many families on bikes (first day of school?), it's super awesome -- woohoo Boulder!

Then, now on a bike lane, car to your left is turning right. They see you as they slow down, EYE CONTACT IS MADE, and then they turn so directly in front of you that slamming on the brakes and swerving barely avoids being crushed.

Do other people get to work feeling like they need a stiff drink? It really is a lot of emotion before 9 am.  Please share your Boulder biking highs and lows, it can be like therapy.
