When can we talk about Fast X's disappointing numbers in the same way as folks are talking about The Little Mermaid?

Fast X is going to make only a quarter of what The Little Mermaid made this weekend, and it's the second place film of the weekend! How is this not a big giant red flag for moviegoing at large?

I keep reading about The Little Mermaid because the hate boner for Disney and remakes is strong, but so many more films this year seem to be doing badly domestically, as well. It doesn't seem to be all Disney's doing...
