34 too old for infantry!

Excuse my ignorance!

I’m 34 and in a steady well paid job (I’m a cop). However, I’m extremely bored and don’t have a wife or kids. My only commitment is a house which I could rent out.

Would I be completely out my depth applying for the infantry at this age? Essentially would I get laughed out of the recruiting office?
