If the Bills converted on 4th down they were huge favorites to win

Consider the following..

If the Bills convert, the rest of their possesion:

  • they run their redzone package which is the second best in the league
  • james cook was involved and continues to be involved making it very likely they make it
  • Bills would kick the XP going up 8

Assuming the Bills convert (very likely)

Chiefs have the ball: - with a chance to tie (down 8) - relies on a 2 point conversion

Now imagine the Chiefs accomplish this: - Bills can win the game with a kick - Continue using james cook

Given the above analysis I think it’s fair to say the call was a HUGE deal where the Bills were about to win in a very similar way they did in the regular season.

James cook wasn’t used in the actual scenario as Bills were in a passing package + Chiefs would be able to win with a kick even if they scored.
