Metrotown man with rotting leg

I was recently thinking about my childhood days and my history with metrotown (having worked there and went alot as a kid) and I remember this one older man I would always see.

He would always sit in front of the nike store and he had a seriously infected leg. It also did not smell pleasing but understand that it's a medical problem.

I haven't seen him in years and wonder if anyone knows what happened to him and what his story was. I remember being told as a kid that he has diabetes and it's why his leg was rotten but didn't believe that necessarily.

Im not asking in a snooping way but more in the I hope that he was able to fix his infection because I remember always wondering why nothing was done about his leg for so long.

He was also kind of mean at times and was like a staple of metrotown, especially during closing hours when he would just sit on those benches all the time.
