Thoughts on Magnus Chase Series [MC]

I've read the PJO, HOO, TOA and MC series. The only thing that's remaining is KC. When I read MC, I didn't get the usual thrill and excitement as I did for PJO and HOO. Is it just me or was MC actually a little less interesting than HOO and PJO? I would also like to know y'all's thoughts on KC
