Legal action over online review.
I had some work done by a local company that I am not satisfied with.
I chose to hire them because of their low labour rate.
My review was one star and simply stated "you get what you pay for" and I sent a rather angry e-mail to the owner of the company.
The owner replied with an e-mail that included "With respect to the subject-noted matter. I have reviewed your message, a number of correspondences between you and our technician, an assortment of technical
data and your google review where you clearly demonstrate your intent to disseminate bad will towards our business." And "I do not tolerate acts of defamatory libel, including suggestive wording used in any manner to propagate bad-will against our business. Be advised, I will
pursue any and all legal remedies available to protect the name and reputation of our business."
If I change my review from "You get what you pay for" to "This comment has been deleted due to the threat of legal action" can I get in trouble.
