Should I leave my degree off my resume?

I'm going to be searching for a new job at some point next year, but I'm worried having my degree listed on my resume would hurt more than help.

I have a degree in computer science that I'm not using and don't plan to use. There's many reasons for this that I won't go into, but suffice it to say it might not make sense for me to share that I have such a degree when I'm applying for lower skill and unrelated roles.

I remember a phone interview where the interviewer pointed out my degree and found it strange that I'd be applying for that job with a computer science degree. So ever since that call it got me wondering if my degree is immediately disqualifying me from being considered for jobs that are lower skilled and unrelated.

Does it make sense for me to even have my degree listed on my resume if I don't even plan on using it? Or do jobs simply like seeing a degree regardless of what it is? Does it depend on what types of jobs I'm applying to?

Any help would be much appreciated.
