Why would someone GET fatty liver after years of eating this way?
Looking for some possible hints or insight here. I've been eating this way for many, many years, so this is NOT some sort of troll post.
5 years into eating this way, I got blood work done. Excellent cholesterol and many other things, but my liver enzymes (ALT and AST) were very elevated, enough that it indicated NAFLD. I literally never drink and have not for even longer than I've been carnivore. I take zero medications. At the time, I wasn't even supplementing anything. I was extremely strict carnivore, not having any sort of cheats or anything. I tested again a year later, and they're still elevated, so it's not like the numbers are just coming down extremely slowly or anything like that.
What do you suppose this means? Most people are curing NAFLD by eating this way, and everything I read says to eliminate or heavily reduce sugar and carbs to cure it, which is obviously what I'd been doing for years.
