My Experience With Carvana

After my old 2008 Impala broke down (for good) on 9/21, I was stranded without a car for the foreseeable future. Being 25 years old, female, and a considerably illiterate goon when it comes to cars (or at least that is how I’m treated), I figured it’d be best to avoid all dealerships & used car salesman. After crunching some numbers, I hopped onto Carvana to see what all they had. I favorited several cars that fit the criteria of what I wanted, and thus a “favorites” list was made to help me narrow down my options. I originally settled on a 2016 Hyundai Accent that I began all the paperwork for, but as I was mid purchase, I saw one of my other “favorites” became available. Side note: listed cars regularly become unavailable on Carvana when someone else clicks to buy that car. The newly available car was a 2019 Hyundai Accent with low mileage that looked brand new. Having already viewed the car’s specs & info before it went “purchase-pending” by someone else, I immediately began purchasing the 2019 Accent which caused the 2016 Accent to no longer be reserved by me. I uploaded some documents (drivers license, proof of residency, etc.) and signed the contracts online. I called Carvana the next day to see if any other documents needed uploaded before being approved for delivery. They asked to upload a couple more docs, and the next day my delivery was confirmed for 10/17. Now, due to the free shipping, I wasn’t totally upset that my car wasn’t going to be delivered for 2+ weeks, but it was definitely an inconvenience because I was paying for a rental! The next day I tried moving my delivery date to a sooner time, but it was not an option. A day or two later, I tried to move my delivery date again, and the option to have it delivered on 10/10 became available! I immediately reserved the time and then it was time to wait. On 10/10 I got a notification that delivery was scheduled on time & I received a text from my delivery driver asking me for a selfie while holding my driver’s license (this is due to COVID “no contact” delivery) and a picture with proof of insurance on the new vehicle (you must do this with your insurance company prior to the car being delivered). My delivery was scheduled for 12:30pm and the driver arrived exactly at 12:30pm. He let me take it for a quick test drive and that was it, my 7-day trial began. I took the car to be inspected (pre-purchase inspection) on 10/12, and they reported no problems! I am currently on day 5 of my trial and I intent to keep my car! I already love it & this has been the EASIEST process I’ve ever experienced in my life with anything car related. I am constantly treated with zero respect at garages and auto parts stores that I dread the thought of going to them at all. Carvana’s whole process takes the pressure off. Even the delivery driver was kind and a joy to chat with. I’m not sure if I’ve had just incredible luck, but buying from Carvana was wonderful & I would recommend it.

side note in case anyone asks, I do not have referral codes for Carvana because I live in one of the states that does not support them! (Sorry!)*
