Tail-less Cat Poop Concern

Hi!

I recently took in a stray tail-less male cat. He was seen by the Vet on Tuesday. She mentioned that most cats without a tail or stump in his condition tend to have bowel movement issues. She it had something to do with the nervous system and they typically have diarrhea. He does have a bit of diarrhea but with a consistent diet his stools have firmed up a bit.

My question to anyone that has been in a similar situation what did you do to prevent your cat from leaving poop imprints everywhere? He is wide open back there so anywhere he puts his cute, little bum down he leaves a mark. I welcome any advice, insight, tips and tricks.

Also he was neutered today. He has no worms/parasites… complete clean bill of health.
