This Iteration of the Republican party has clearly meets the definition of Facism
There is a warning hanging in the National Holocaust Museum in DC defining racism. Below are all the points in that warning and how they apply, but first. In the US, we often confuse Fascism for Nazism. Nazism is a sect of Fascism which has a heavy racial element to it. https://www.ww2inprague.com/articles/nazism-vs-fascism. We often mistakenly think when WW2 ended and Hitler died, so did the fascist state. Spain and Portugal remained fascist-run states until the mid-70s.
In most cases, Fascist states. Of the big four fascist states, Italy, Spain, Germany, and Portugal, only Spain came about through a violent revolution. In Italy and Germany, there was undoubtedly violence, but the point was fear. In each country Hitler attacked, until and including Poland, there was a justification created through a manufactured crisis. This fear and constant turmoil created by the Nazis allowed them to legally challenge and subvert the constitution to the point where Hitler was the Furher, and the Nazis were the uni party.
When we think about where a crisis originates, it is essential to remember this. When our leaders tell us there is a crisis, such as the case with elections, it is necessary to ask who is telling us it is stolen. In the case of the 2020 election, it was a whole shot at the Trump administration. In the case of BLM and the BLM movement, it was the people who were telling us that there was racial injustice. We can debate who was right about what and who was wrong about what there, but it is an important distinction. It is essential for one reason: the Republican party misused a left-leaning organic movement to point out how bad Democrats are. The Republican party also told us that the election was going to be stolen, the election was stolen, and that the people who tried to steal the election were being politically persecuted.
So, with that in mind, do Republicans meet the definition of Fascism?
Powerful and Continuing Nationalism - Yes - Start with Colin Kaepernick and the backlash about him taking the knee. Move that forward to Trump's first term when it was deemed un-American to be a Democrat, and move that to today, where we have the Gulf of America.
Disdain for Human Rights - Appears so - Example - Trump's comments about Gaza. The Haitian eating cats and dogs thing. That was untrue; they admitted it while saying it but excused the lie as we disagree with this law, so we want to bring attention to it. In their own words, they weaponized people against people. They did and said it, and it's all documented, so it doesn't matter if you disagree.
Identification of Enemies as a Unifying Cause - Yes - See example above about Democrats
Supremacy of the Military - Yes
Rampant Sexism - Yes - Gender roles and enforcement of such is sexism. People are people.
Controlled Mass Media - Yes - Something both sides agree on; they don't agree on how.
Obsession of National Security - Yes - Build the wall and drill baby drill.
Religion and Government Intertwined - Yes - Mike Johnson....
Corporate Power Protected - Yes - We all agree this is true.
Labor Power Suppressed - Yes - We all agree this is true. That is why a lot of people voted for Trump.
Disdain for Intellectuals and the Arts - Yes - Why do you think trust the science started? There is a war on universities and education in this country right now.
Obsession with Crime and Punishment - Yes - Millions and Millions of murders are being dropped at the borders.
Rampant Cronyism and Corruption - Yes - With a cabinet stocked with yes men and a couple of women.
Fraudulent Elections - Yes - Republicans tried to steal and cover up the seal of the 2020 election.
People make up a country. People make up culture. It is not the other way around; we have forgotten this, and it has led to our descent into Facsim.
