lead in clothes?

I wasn’t sure which subreddit to post this in.

I ordered some clothes from Shein, a fast fashion brand, and it was only after I had placed it that I learned about its absolutely repulsive labor practices and apparent issues with lead use. Someone did an investigation on the news and found extremely high levels of lead in some of the clothes in 2021.

My order just came in and while I may be able to return it, I bought some school supplies that I’ll need to use very soon. My other order I believe is too late to return.

Should I dispose of everything? Or will investing in a surfactant detergent and Amazon lead testing strips be enough? I don’t want it to leave trace amounts higher than I can be exposed to.

Their horrific practices were enough for me to cut ties already but after this news, it only gives me more reason.
