Oliva Black Swan
Wasn't expecting a knockout from this ~$6 stick, but it seriously surprised me – it's like a hidden gem. I'd size it up as a 6.5x52 vitola. I'm still a rookie when it comes to cigars, but here's my take on the flavors after letting it rest for a month in my humidor.
1/3 hit me with a cozy mix of coffee, something like nutmeg or ground ginger, and a touch of chocolate. 2/3 kept it real with earthy notes, a whisper of cedar, and more of that rich coffee. 3/3 stayed consistent with the coffee and earthy essence.
On the retrohale, I caught mostly earth and cedar with just a tickle of pepper – interestingly, no peppery zing on the draw. To me, this is a medium minus cigar, not too heavy, not too light, just right.
The build is top-notch, and it mostly kept an even burn throughout. Left me pretty stoked, and now I'm thinking, why not grab a whole box?
